It is clear, from a great deal of research on the impact of fishing on children, that fishing is good for our children and promotes:

W.A.C.F.A. seeks to offer a novel approach that actually focuses on a shared experience with children and their families through the sport of fishing in a much more comprehensive way than most other fishing programs employ.  We go beyond simply handing a child a rod, reel and bait, pointing them at the water, and letting them ‘just go fish.’ Our approach, as a true Fishing Academy, will focus on key developmental priorities enhanced through learning the art and sport of fishing. We will also encourage and support our students as they continue their fishing journey independently. We gift all our students, that complete the course, with their own fishing tackle and the personal contact information of their instructor, mentor/coach. This provides them with the training and resources necessary to further their personal development and love for the sport beyond their experience with W.A.C.F.A.
